Donating Land

Sometimes land is the best asset to give.

For some, a donation of land may be the best way to help Gwinnett Habitat. We buy land and we accept buildable land as a donation, including sale-donation combinations. The value of donated land is tax deductible.

If building on the land is not in the best interest of Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity we will sell it and direct the proceeds toward building homes elsewhere.

Gwinnett Habitat assigns fair appraisal value to all land we receive or purchase. Be sure to consult talk an attorney or tax advisor about the positive impact of a land donation.

Preferred criteria for land donations

• Buildable lot, zoned residential
• Maximum dwelling: 1,600 square feet
• Sewer line hookup
• Near mass transit, parks and schools

We are also interested in purchasing infill, acreage or small developed subdivisions.
